Today in class we discussed the difference between looking and seeing. We took a short walk under cloudy skies around the journalism building to practice something we do everyday -- looking. After a few minutes we came together to talk about what we discovered about the process. The conclusion we came to is that seeing involves being conscious of our experiences with the environment. When we see, a connection is made between what we select to gaze upon and make sense of.
