As a teacher we hear all sorts of excuses for not coming to class or missing assignments. However, this is the first time I have ever received an image along with an email explanation. Carsen gets extra credit for figuring out that pictures do speak louder than words.
"Hey dennis just writing to say why i'm not in class today, i experienced some car trouble on my way home from class on the order of power steering fluid spraying over my entire engine."
Another student came into the office this morning to tell me she'd be late for class because she had an assignment for the college newspaper at the same time. We started talking about the news of the day and I commented that I felt like the world was spinning out of control. My question to Megan: "What can we do when everything in the world seems to be spinning out of control?" Answer: "Cover it."
