A bit of history came to an end this week in Southern Oregon. I made a few snaps of Ashland's historic century-old tree of heaven before before it was cut down on Tuesday in Ashland's plaza.
The tree was believed to have been planted by Chinese immigrants near the site of Ashland's mill.
Below: A man takes a close look at the tree after it was cut down. I liked the juxtaposition of the sign on the man's backpack and the notion of a tree of heaven.
