The media, at times, seems of one mind. Pack journalism is one of the downsides of media growth because it restricts alternative ways of thinking and seeing. When we view an image like this one of President Rafael Correa of Ecuador what is typically presented to us is not the throng of journalists. However, viewing the mob makes us think more about issues of power and access to the powerful. In a sense, photojournalists are the eyes of the world, yet how often to the powerful attempt to blindfold and bedazzle the media through staged photo ops?
