Long before digital photography, the Polaroid ruled the land of instant images. This year will mark the end of an era with the closing of Polaroid plants in the U.S. and overseas, as well as the discontinuation of Polaroid film.
It appears that the historical significance of the Polaroid SX-70 and other cameras has been over shadowed by advances in digital photography. At the same time, the Polaroid's place between the latent and the instant cannot be underestimated.
