We have received entries from 40 countries since 1 January 2015. With prizes totalling €38,000, this is one of the richest awards in the German-speaking world. Prizes will be awarded in five categories and there will be a separate award for emerging photographic talent. The category winners will each receive €2,000 and the emerging photographer award has non-monetary prizes worth around €18.000 and will take the form of equipment lent by camera manufacturer Phase One. The winner of the Photo Award in Gold, which is worth €10,000, will be chosen from the category winners.
The five categories are portrait, landscape/nature, architecture/industry, photojournalism/editorial photography, free choice/conceptual photography.
The awards ceremony will take place in early October and the exhibition of prizewinning work in Osnabrück’s Cultural History Museum will open at the same time.
